Two lovers will do anything to be together. Two households will do anything to keep them apart. This isn’t just any love story; it’s the love story. This all-time classic is exquisitely re-imagined by the highly acclaimed Royal New Zealand Ballet. Following rave reviews from the UK and China, Romeo & Juliet marks the company's Wollongong debut.

Christopher Hampson’s choreography, innately musical and dramatically sustained throughout, brings tradition and tragedy into the 21st century. Inspired by Fellini’s La Dolce Vita and Baz Luhrmann’s film version of Romeo & Juliet, Hampson brings a cinematic quality to Prokofiev’s epic score.

In Romeo & Juliet the Royal New Zealand Ballet confirms its unique reputation for pushing boundaries and taking the art of ballet forward.
